The Prophet's (PBUH) Mosque

The Merits and Virtue of the Prophet's (صلي الله عليه وسلم) Mosque

It has been reported by Abu Huraira (رضي الله عنه) that the Prophet (صلي الله عليه وسلم) said: "One prayer in my Mosque is better than one thousand prayers in any other mosque except Al-Masjid-AI-Haram." [Source: Sahih Al-Bhukhari (1190) and Sahih Al-Muslim (1394)]

As reported by Abu Huraira (رضي الله عنه) the Prophet (صلي الله عليه وسلم) said: "One should travel to visit only three mosques: This mosque of mine (Masjid Al-Nabwi), Al-Masjid-Al-Haram (Makkah), and the Aqsa Mosque." [Source: Sahih Al-Bukhari (1189) and Sahih Al-Muslim (1397)]. He (صلي الله عليه وسلم) has also been reported to said, as narrated by Jabir bin Abdullah (رضي الله عنهما) "No camel was ridden to a better place than Ibrahim's (عليه السلام) Mosque and My Mosque." [Source: Sahih Hadith from Masnad Ahmad (14612) and Al-Bazaar (1075 - Kashaf)]

As reported by Ka'b bin Malik (رضي الله عنه) the Messenger of Allah (صلي الله عليه وسلم) never came home from a journey except by daytime, in midmorning. When He would arrive, he started by going to The Mosque where he would offer two rak'ahs and then sit down. [Source: Sahih Al-Bhukhari (3088) and Sahih Al-Muslim (716)]

Abu Huraira (رضي الله عنه) reported from the Prophet (صلي الله عليه وسلم) that "Whoever comes to this mosque of mine, and he does not come but for some good which he would learn or teach, he is like one who is engaged in jihād in the way of Allāh; and whoever comes for any purpose other than this, he is like a man who casts looks at the property of another."
